About

From digital craft to property and hospitality.

Nest is built by people who have spent over sixteen years making things work beautifully — we're now applying the same vision, skills and care to a place you can stay.

The story

Built slowly, on purpose.

Shed Collective has been building and operating a successful digital business since 2010. Nest at Wester Lix is a deliberate diversification into property and premium Scottish hospitality — applying the same discipline of craft, restraint and attention to detail to a physical place.

The founders have funded the project through land aquisition, design, planning and early development. There's no rush and no shortcuts: the right site, the right design, the right team.

Why we're doing this

Tourism the area deserves.

Nest is a long-term project with a simple test behind every decision: does it make the stay, the site and the area better?

Eco-tourism, done properly

Passivhaus-principle lodges and low-impact infrastructure — as sustainable as we can make it, designed in from the start rather than bolted on.

Cycle-friendly, EV-ready

Proper cycle support and EV charging as standard, so low-carbon travel to and around the Park is the easy choice.

Adding, never taking

Our site can't be used for housing, so Nest grows the area's visitor economy without costing a single home.

Good for our neighbours

Year-round guests eating, drinking and exploring locally — a steady lift for the businesses around us.

Placemaking for the Park

A project that raises the profile of Killin, Loch Tay and the wider National Park, and adds to the sense of place rather than borrowing from it.

Something to be proud of

Asset-backed hospitality, built carefully and held for the long term — a project everyone involved can stand behind.

The people

A small team, with the right specialists around it.

Nest is supported by architects, planners, engineers, modular manufacturers and local infrastructure specialists — each chosen for their experience, expertise and the quality of their work.
